Dude Ernest Nelson, Sr.January 11, 1938 ~ October 22, 2017 (age 79)
Dude E. Nelson, Sr, age 79, of Louisville passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 22, 2017 and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He was born January 11, 1938 in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Charles and Lillie Nelson. Dude was an Army Veteran and a Union Carpenter since 1964. He was very proud to be of Native American descent and member of the Natchez Tribe. He was a 50 year member of the Louisville Baptist Temple and a member of the DAV.
Dude is survived by his wife of 55 years and the Love of his Life, Sandy (Sims) Nelson, three daughters; Pamela (Craig Parr) Wright, Lisa (Robert) Blachaniec, Stacey (Tom) Hughes, a son; Dude (Tara Wallace) Nelson, Jr. His pride and joy were his eight grandchildren; Christopher, Brandon, Leah, Kiley, Dude III (Nichole), Whitley, Thomas, Jacob and two great-granddaughters; Gabrielle and Isabelle. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene Nelson and six brothers. The family would like to thank Debbie from Kindred at Home and his special nurse Karen Cox for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Dude.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Friday at the Louisville Baptist Temple with Pastor Mike Harmon officiating. Calling hours will be 6-8pm Thursday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial, with military honors, will be in Union Cemetery Louisville, OH.
