Elda V. Imler, age 101, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton following a brief illness.

She was born September 20, 1916 near Everett, Pa. to the late Lester Howard Decker and Mabel Wigfield Decker.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Alfred H. Imler in 1996, a son, Wayne Imler, daughter Patricia, who died in infancy, siblings, Walter Decker, Mildred Bridenthal, Pauline Goulart and Hazel Ferguson.

Elda is survived by her son Dean (Charlotte) Imler, seven grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, five great -great –grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Elda moved to Canton, Ohio with her husband from Pennsylvania in 1940, and was employed by the Hoover Company for over six years and Timken-Mercy Hospital for 30 years.

She was an avid bowler and fan of the Cleveland Indians. Elda also enjoyed telling stories from her life to her many family members. She was a member of the North Canton Community Christian Church for over 75 years.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday morning at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Sarah Taylor Peck. Calling hours will be 10-11am Friday morning at the funeral home.
