Joseph R. Metzger

Joseph R. Metzger, age 79, of East Canton, Ohio passed away following a brief illness. He was born in Harrisburg, Ohio on May 11, 1938 to the late Oscar and Blanche (Snyder) Metzger. Joseph was a 1956 graduate of Louisville High School and was retired from the Diebold Company.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judith; eight brothers, Charles, Paul, Jim, Dick, Harold, Robert, Walter and Tom Metzger; a sister, Alice Snyder. He is survived by a daughter, Julie (Rick) Babcock; two sons, Dave and Kris Metzger; a sister, Beatrice Martin; a brother, Oscar Metzger; four grandchildren, Carrie (Charles) Gash, David Metzger, Joseph (Megan) Babcock and Zachary (Lisa) Babcock; six great grandchildren, Kaylee and Jessalyn Metzger, Henna and Beckett Gash, Halle and Cameron Babcock.

A memorial service will be held 6pm Tuesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Calling hours will be from 3-6pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
