Welcome to the memorial page for

Nancy Jean (Burnbrier) Romigh

September 2, 1932 ~ January 3, 2018 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Nancy Jean Romigh passed on to glory on January 3, 2018. Her physical struggle is over and she is walking the Golden Streets pain-free.

Nancy was born in Canton, Ohio on September 2, 1932 to Carl and Muriel Burnbrier. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. Dick and Nancy were united in marriage on July 3, 1951 during a leave from Dick’s Army service. He preceded her in death November 5, 2011. They were married for 60 very full and wonderful years. Nancy worked at Canton Orthopedics and Cardiology Associates as a billing specialist and office manager for many years.

She and Dick raised 4 children on the farm on Nickelplate. Though the farm was always under construction and in some level of upheaval, Nancy was a gracious host to the many relatives and friends coming to enjoy their farm and all the activities afforded there, ready with an iced tea and something to eat. We are grateful for the kind of mother she was. I doubt it was smooth sailing with 4 kids like us who would probably qualify to have a DSM V diagnosis of ADHD. Her generous spirit was a blessing to us all. Nancy recently found the most endearing pleasure in holding and playing with her great grandchildren. They had her heart and she had theirs. Rascal, her little Norwich terrier was her constant companion.

Nancy was a member of First Brethren Church in Louisville for 40 years, then First Friends in Alliance for the duration of her time here on earth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick in 2011 and their son Ted in 2014, she is survived by a brother Tom (Sharon) Burnbrier, sister Jackie (Rich) Ranalli; daughters Mickey (Doug) Shook; Cindy (Tom) Dowell; and Sharon Miller; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to: First Friends Church Alliance, 1307 W. State Street, Alliance, Ohio 44601 or Beacon of Hope Brethren Church, 1101 E. Main Street, Louisville, Ohio 44641

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care, the staff at St. Joseph’s Senior Living Memory Care, the special granddaughters who provided their care to the end and Sister Agnes who knew how to lend a hand when Mom needed one.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 11:00-12:00 and a Memorial Service to follow at 12 noon, both at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville

He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.  Phillipians 3:21     Online condolences may be left at www.stierisraelfuneralhome.com
