Robert (Bob) Belden Stevens passed away on April 10, 2024. He was born May 28, 1937, to the late Wilbur and Dorothy Stevens in Canton, Ohio. In 1955 he met the love of his life, Jean Ashby Stevens while working together in Canton, Ohio. They soon married and settled in Louisville, Ohio where they raised their sons, Mark and Greg, and lived for almost 63 years. Bob was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church (now Christ Church Louisville). Bob retired from Hercules Engines and then started a second career working for the City of Louisville.
Bob was a talented carpenter and woodworker and loved building intricate replica model sailing ships. Bob and Jean traveled all over the United States and Canada and enjoyed traveling to Europe. Many of the trips he and Jean took were with their sons and he cherished this time with family. Bob also loved exercising, telling jokes and he never turned down a donut or a dessert.
Bob is survived by his sons Mark (Jerry), Powell, Ohio, and Greg (Christie), Smyrna, Georgia, and two brothers, Richard Stevens of Louisville, Ohio, and James Stevens of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, John Wade and Richard Green, sister-in-law, Barbara Ashby, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Wade and his brother Russell.
Funeral services will be on Monday, April 15 at 11:00 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev Carolyn Nichols officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Louisville, Ohio.
