Betty B (Oyster) Poto

Betty B. (Oyster) Poto, age 95, of Alliance, OH formerly of Louisville, OH passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019. She was born November 6, 1923 in Homeworth, OH to the late Altus and Ethel (Shekels) Oyster. Betty was a 1941 graduate of Alliance High School. She was a member of National Honor Society and graduated 3rd in her class. She taught piano for 20 years. Betty was a member of the Freeburg Church of the Brethren, the Keeshond Club of America, the American Kennel Club, The Eight Bells Card Club and the past president of the Alliance Music Study Club. She raised and showed Keeshond Dogs. She started playing golf at age 42 and achieved 2 Hole in Ones. She was an Avid Cleveland Indians Fan as well as a football and basketball fan for Mount Union, Syracuse and Alliance.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Poto in 2017. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Connie) Poto and Ronald Poto; three grandchildren, Robert Samuel Poto II, Chrisha Poto, Tami Carper; and one great-grandson, Austin Carper. The family would like to thank the staff at Danbury Senior Living and Elara Hospice for their excellent care and support.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
