Jean (Anderson) Leuenberger

April 9, 1927 ~ November 13, 2018 (age 91)

Jean Leuenberger, age 91, of Louisville, OH passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018. She was born April 9, 1927 to the late Oliver and Alice (Milton) Anderson. Jean received her bachelor’s degree in education from Kent State University and taught elementary school for several years. Jean and her husband were the owner operators of the former Chuck’s Men’s & Boys Fashions in Louisville. She was a longtime member of Paradise United Church of Christ. Jean was past president of the Town and Country Garden Club, a life member of the Canton Garden Center, a 65 year member of Eastern Star and she was the 1st president of the Ohio Chapter Paperweight Assoc. She volunteered at the Mount Union Nature Center and Ohio Reads. Jean enjoyed getting together with the whole family, working in her flower garden and vacationing to Switzerland, Alaska and Hawaii.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Chuck” Leuenberger, in 2010, her infant son, Paul Allan Leuenberger, a sister, Ruth McCafferty and three brothers, Carl, Jack and Todd Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alice (Joe) Morgan, two sons, Bob (Vicki) Leuenberger, Scott (Lee Ann Riter) Leuenberger, seven grandchildren, Anne (Mike) Gotschall, Matt (Erin) Leuenberger, Curtis (Brittany) Leuenberger, Ashley (Pete) Keller, Amanda Leuenberger, Lisa (Kirk) Brown and Lindsey (Joseph) Negard, seven great-grandchildren, Taryn and Owen Gotschall, Mya and Chloe Leuenberger, Madelyn and Amelia Keller, Kinsley Brown.

Funeral services will be 10am Friday morning at Paradise United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. David Anderson officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7pm Thursday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville and 9-10am Friday morning at the church. Eastern Star services will be at 4:45pm Thursday. Jean will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: John T. Huston Nature Center, 1972 Clark Ave, Alliance, OH 44601.
