Ming Tong Yu

Ming Tong Yu, age 85, of Louisville (formerly of Pittsburgh, PA), passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018. He was born June 21, 1932 in Nanjing, China to the late Mien Wu and Sung Chen (Chang) Yu. Ming Tong earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maxine Yu, his son and daughter-in-law, Alex Yu and Lore Nestel-Yu, three grandchildren, Brittany, Christina and Amy, two sisters and two brothers. He was also preceded in death by a sister.

He was a loving husband, caring father, generous brother, and scholarly gentleman.  He enjoyed history, calligraphy, gardening, art, music, writing, teaching, computing, and architecture.  He will be greatly missed by the many lives he had touched.
