Patrick Menegay

Patrick Menegay, age 49, passed away unexpectedly December 16, 2018 at his home on Tybee Island, Georgia. He was born May 29, 1969 in Lackawanna, New York, son of James “Jim” and Sheila Menegay of Louisville. Patrick is also survived by his daughters Melinda Wright (Brian Kulow) of Akron, Savanna Menegay Wilburn (Alex) of Pooler, Georgia, son Joshua Thompson of Savannah, Ga. Grandchildren Grayson Wright and Addison Lee Wilburn. Sister Mary Menegay (Jeff Teel) of North Canton and his chosen brother Michael Aliff of Sandersville, Ga, Niece Amanda Menegay and Nephew Aaron Menegay both of Altoona, Pa. and many special friends. He was a 1987 graduate of Louisville High School and attended The Columbus College of Art and Design. Patrick was a kind and generous man who adored his family and friends. He had a big heart and was always there for anyone in need. He had a way of seeing the beauty in the world and it was reflected in in his work. Patrick was a skilled journeyman mason and his passion and artistic talent could be seen in any project he completed. One of his most special visions was memorializing the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by placing American Flags on a piece of driftwood on Tybee Island. It has become a famous landmark on Highway 80 and has been featured in Tybee Island publications and on social media. A memorial Mass will be held 4pm Thursday December 27, 2018 at The House of Loreto in Canton. Calling hours will 2:30pm-4pm at the House of Loreto.
