Alma "Louise" (Groves) Slayman

Alma “Louise” Slayman, age 90, of Louisville, OH, loving mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was born January 24, 1930 in Canton, OH to the late Russell and Dora Mae Groves. She was a longtime member of Fairhope United Methodist Church. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Slayman in 1992, a daughter, Wanda Curry, her son, Eugene Slayman and her sister, Thelma Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Diane (Jerry) Rodak, her brother, Russell Groves Jr, grandson, Kevin (Jill) Curry, three great-grandsons, Nate, Owen and Tyler and a special niece, Darlene (Wayne) Minor. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center for the care that Louise received during her time there.

A private family service will be held at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. Louise will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairhope United Methodist Church, 5660 Louisville St NE, Louisville, OH 44641.
