Antoinette “Toni” (Melilli) McDonald, age 99, beloved wife of the late Marshall McDonald, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on August 25,1926, in Faeto, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Prospero and Rosina Melilli.
Antoinette is survived by her children Thomas McDonald – Canton, Ohio; Marsha Duffy – Greenville, South Carolina; Stephen and Christine McDonald – Akron, Ohio and her sister Rose Anzalone – Phoenix, Arizona.
She was the proud grandmother of five: Andrea McDonald Gymer (Matt), Conor McDonald (Tina), Tracy Duffy Ramseur (David), Chelsea McDonald Diso (Jeff), and Christopher Duffy (Carlin), and the cherished great‑grandmother of five.
Antoinette lived a long, full life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her Italian heritage. She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the deep love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Aviva Hills and Harmony Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during her final months.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday June 9th at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Church, Louisville, Ohio, in honor of Antoinette’s lifelong faith.
