Anton Rybar of East Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home in the presence of his loving family on March 9, 2026. He was born on April 14, 1951 in Lučenec, Czechoslovakia to Anton and Jolana Rybar. He was a proud city boy in Bratislava, Slovakia before moving to the United States in 1986. Anton was a retired engineer of Resco Products who loved hockey, Formula One, and enjoying a double espresso with friends.
Anton was a cherished father, husband, brother, uncle, and grandpa. He is survived by his wife Alena, of East Canton; his daughters Melanie (Brandon Rivington) of Washington, DC and Franchesca (Alex Avdakov) of Pittsburgh, PA; his sister Drahomira Fuksa and nephew George Fuksa, of White Lake, MI; his nieces Nora and Ruth Strausz of Windsor, Ontario; his stepson Juraj Matula (Milina) and grandchildren Nayka and Max of Bratislava, Slovakia; and his life-long friends, the Richter Family, of Wexford, PA. He is preceded in death by his wife Francisca Melania Molina Rybar and his sister Blažena Strausz.
Services will be held on Monday, March 16 at 11 AM at the Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio. The family will receive friends and family from 10 AM to 11 AM. In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that you come as you are, with the option to make a donation to Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville.
