Catherine “Sally” Neel

On this Mother's Day we are saddened to tell of the passing of our beloved mother, Catherine "Sally" Neel. We are grateful that on her birthday, January 3rd, we were able to celebrate her 94 years of life together as a family, and then to be with her again in her final days, all in the home that she loved and cherished for over 76 years. 

She is preceded in death by her husband John Neel, and is survived by her children Kenneth (Beverly Koewler) Neel, Linda (Dennis) Williams, Sandy Young, grandson Jason (Kristi) Young, granddaughter Ashley (Justin) McDonald, and great grandchildren, Christian and Ella Grace.

Sally had many passions in life, a few being able to travel the world with the love of her life John, whom she shared 65 years of marriage, and volunteer at Christ Church of Louisville where she was a member for over 50 years. Sally was a talented seamstress and a gifted painter of ceramics. She loved having her family and friends stop by for visits, and she was blessed with so many friends who loved her. She took great pride in being a homemaker, keeping a meticulous lawn, and her sparkling clean windows are legendary. But above all, her greatest love and joy was for her family, especially her Grand and Great Grandchildren. 

The family wishes to send heartfelt thanks to Traci and all of “Sally’s girls” with Dif's, Jeanne, and Crossroads Hospice for Sally’s end of life care.
