Cherie Ritchie Obituary

Cherie L. Ritchie went to be with our Lord on November 1, 2023. She was born on February 22, 1978, to Eric and Susan (Rebillot) Ritchie. She is survived by her loving wife Jodi Howell, her stepdaughters Riley, Leah, and Madison Kellish, and her step-grandson Ayden. She is also survived by her brother Mark Ritchie and his son, her brother Mike (Shelly) Ritchie and their children, as well as her parents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cherie was a 1996 graduate of Louisville High School and graduated from Kent State University in 2002. She then went on to earn her MBA and was employed for several years at MAC Trailer. She was currently an HR Generalist, specializing in Human Resources and paving the way for others to become successful in life. Throughout her career there, she welded and worked on the frontlines to establish a true connection with those she would serve in her new role.

Cherie loved to fish, was an avid softball player, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She played in the Superdraft every year to help raise money for Kaiden Kares, a nonprofit organization to help children battling congenital heart disease. She was a charismatic, loving, and caring soul whose compassion for others was contagious. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She fought her battle with courage and strength, showing others how to live, even in the face of uncertainty.

A private family service will be held at Stier-Israel Funeral home. There will be a Celebration of Life held on November 18, 2023, at the Louisville American Legion from 5-9 PM. Please plan to join us for an evening of love, laughter, and many, many memories.

The family wants to send a special thanks to MAC Trailer for their caring and generosity for Cherie during this difficult time. The overwhelming outreach, support, compassion, and concern received from MAC Trailer was overwhelming and incredibly heartwarming.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The American Cancer Society in Cherie’s name.
