Constance “Connie” Fae Schmucker, age 92, a long-time resident of Louisville, passed away peacefully in Cleveland Clinic Akron General on May 4, 2025 following a heart attack and stroke. Connie worked over 30 years as a court stenographer and was also an active member of Paradise Church and volunteered in the local community. With her unwavering faith, she served the church in a variety of roles for more than 60 years.
Connie was born in Canton, Ohio on December 8, 1932 to the late James and Beulah Hanel. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Owen Schmucker, and her sister Bonnie Dryden (William). Connie is survived by three children: Bruce Schmucker (Peggy), Bryan Schmucker (Jody) and Beth Schmucker (Brad Johnson). She is also survived by her sister Pam Shear and her sister-in-law Norma Jean Ramsey.
One of the greatest joys for Connie “Grame” was spending time with her five grandchildren: Kayse Cogan (Chris), Logan Schmucker, Zachary Schmucker, Lyndsey Schmucker, and Palmer Johnson. In addition, “Grame” enjoyed playing with the three family pets: Roo, Furball, and Juno. These furry family members always put a smile on her face.
For the last two years, Connie was a resident of Windsor Medical Center in North Canton. She enjoyed socializing with the other residents, participating in the activities, and spreading good cheer.
Many Thanks to the ICU staff at Cleveland Clinic Akron General for their caring attention.
