Dennis P. Haidet, age 86, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was born November 13, 1937 in Canton, OH to the late Paul and Marguerite (Fredey) Haidet. A 1955 graduate of Louisville High School. Denny was the manager of Haidet’s IGA in Louisville for many years until his retirement. A lifelong member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Denny faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Louisville FOE, Louisville American Legion and the East Central Ohio Food Dealers Association.
Denny’s greatest joy was his family. They could always count on his quiet wisdom, unending support and his huge heart. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years, Janet (Renier) Haidet; their five children, Jean (Maynard) Hershberger, Michael (Donna) Haidet, Joanne (Brent) Walls, Mark Haidet and Julie Pettay; his brother, Roger (Joyce) Haidet; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Haidet and a sister, Donna Jean Edgar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Monday morning at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr Matthew Humerickhouse and Fr. Tom Bishop concelebrating. Calling hours will be 2-4pm Sunday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Church, 300 North Chapel St, Louisville, OH 44641.
