Diane Mae (Barnes) Shankle

Diane Mae Shankle, age 82, of Canton, OH passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was born December 3, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to the late Albert and Jena Barnes. She was a 1961 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at the former JT Nist Nursing Home.

Diane is survived by two daughters, Darlene Archibald and Teresa Shankle; two sons, Darryl (Lori) and Tim (Shawnice) Shankle; a brother, Albert “Rocky” Barnes Jr; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lawrence Shankle and a grandson, Gregory James Valentine.

Funeral service will be 4pm Sunday (on her 57th wedding anniversary) at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. Calling hours will be 2-4pm Sunday at the funeral home.
