Earl William McKimm, age 82, of Louisville, OH passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025. He was born October 11, 1942 in Canton, OH to the late Austin and Lucille (Bishop) McKimm. Earl was a 1960 graduate of Louisville High School and he was an Army Veteran. He retired from the Timken Company in 2004 after 41 years of service. He attended Christ Presbyterian Church of Canton and was a member of the Louisville FOE #2374. He was an avid Cleveland, Ohio State and Notre Dame sports fan. Earl “Big City” knew somebody everywhere he went. High school state basketball tournaments were a yearly venture, with Nub McKimm, for almost 60 years. He got to see his first Louisville Basketball State Championship this year. Earl enjoyed family time, fishing, watching sports, attending church and playing cards with family and friends.
Earl is survived by his wife of 44years, Joyce (Welsch) McKimm; two daughters, Andrea (Michael) McFerren and Kristen McKimm; four sisters, Elaine (Steve) Skolosh, Luann Lennon, Rose Katich, Pauline (John) Pwarck; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Christy and Dave Thorley; his grandson, Lucas Jeffries and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis McKimm.
Funeral services will be 11am Thursday morning at Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton with Pastor Benjamin George officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7pm Wednesday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville and 10-11am Thursday morning at the church.
