Erick J. Hendrickson

Erick J. Hendrickson, age 71, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully in his home after a period of extended illness on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on March 23, 1951 in Canton, OH and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees and completed doctoral coursework at the University of Akron. Erick, a lifelong educator, retired from Plain Local Schools in 2008 after 34 years of service and became an adjunct mathematics instructor at the University of Mount Union. He was especially proud of his Ohio Superintendent’s licensure which enabled him later in life to be an Educational Specialist at the Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Center in Canton.  Erick had a generous spirit and fondly remembered spending time with his granddaughter when she was young. He attended Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville.

Erick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen (Hostetler) Hendrickson; daughter, Amy Nuesch; granddaughter, Charlotte Nuesch and her father Remo Nuesch; and a brother, Charles Hendrickson. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hendrickson and his wife Gladys; his mother, Margaret Sponaugle; and a brother, Mark Hendrickson.

A memorial service will be held 11am Tuesday at Beech Mennonite Church, 10037 Easton St NE, Louisville, OH 44641 with Pastor Matt Reed officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7pm Monday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care or to the Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Center.
