Faye Roberta (Grunder) Emerson

Faye Roberta (Grunder) Emerson, age 96, of Louisville, OH passed to her eternal reward on Friday, August 28, 2020. She was born in Louisville on November 22, 1923 to Roland and Ruth (Hahn) Grunder. Everyone who knew Faye loved her and spoke of her as a great lady. She always welcomed people into her home and tended to their needs.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Jack Dean Emerson; her son, William Roland Emerson; two brothers, Lester and Roland Grunder; two sisters, Jeanette Black and Jane Emerson. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (David) Scheurer and Diane Johanning; two sons, Terry and Gary (Nancy) Emerson; daughter-in-law, Marsha Emerson; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchldren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Emil) Cindea; sisters-in-law, Vada Grunder and LaRue Sisak.

The family is very grateful to the staff at St. Joseph Care Center Memory Unit for their loving care and the Crossroads Hospice staff who eased her transition.

A graveside funeral service will be 1pm Thursday at Union Cemetery in Louisville with Rev. Dr. Larry Hinkle officiating. If you don’t feel comfortable attending the graveside service, the family is also planning a celebration of life service for a future date.
