Gary L. Blythe, age 83, of Louisville, OH passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born May 31, 1941 in Canton, OH to Ernest and Cora (Lungren) Blythe. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1959, was a member of Paradise United Church of Christ, Louisville FOE and served as a Louisville Auxiliary Patrolman for 10 years in the 60’s and 70’s. Gary worked at many jobs over the years and was known as a “Jack of all trades”. He retired from the Timken Steel Company in 1998 after 32 years of service. He was very proud of the fact that he and his wife built 3 complete homes, which included all of the plumbing, electrical and construction.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Rose (Shreffler) Blythe; a sister, Evelyn Schaefer; a brother, John Blythe and 3 grandchildren. He is survived by 6 daughters, Peggy (Reccardo) Semedo, Karen (Graydon) Wohlheter, Beth (Larry) Wade, Gail Blythe, Sherry (Karl) Brendle, Suzanne (David) Bell; his son, Gary (Dawn) Blythe II; 3 sisters, Nancy Seidler, Janet (Dan) Cassey, Judy Cross; 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12noon Friday September 27 at Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville. Calling hours will be 10am-12noon Friday morning at the church. Gary will be laid to rest, beside his wife, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH.
