George William Coon Sr

George William Coon Sr, age 87, of Louisville, OH passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was born September 17, 1936 in Shawnee, OH to the late Hershel and Anna Coon. George was a 1955 graduate of Darlington high school in Darlington PA, and a member of the Presbyterian church. He was a veteran in the Army for 2 years 1957-59 in the mortar battery division and served in Germany.

He worked in construction at Charbetz inc. as a caulker/tuck pointer in Columbus, OH which moved him to Stark County until he started his own caulking business (Coon Caulking) with his son Stephen Coon in Louisville, OH.

George is survived by his wife Linda of 64years, three sons, George Jr (Peggy), Steve (Jenny) and Ty Coon; his daughter Kellie (Mark) Mathie, four sisters, Marilyn Mances, Elaine Cramer, Darlene (Tim) Weigel, Evelyn (Ronny) Clark; a brother, Sonny; 14 grandchildren, Kathy, Angela, Heather, Hollie, Nick, Josh, Chad, Danielle, Nicholas, Dane, Allyssa, Ty II, Seth and Levi and 25 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Coon and his grandson, Shawn Coon

Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 14th from 12noon-3:00 pm at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville Ohio
