Gerald “Mark” Davis Sr, age 83, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully, in his home, on Saturday, September 20, 2025. He was born May 17, 1942 in Canton, OH to Walter and Viola Davis. Mark retired in 2005, after 46 years with Stark Ceramics as a lead operator. He was a member of Christ Church of Louisville.
Mark is survived by his wife of 62 years, Junia “Kay” Davis; his daughter, Candy (Fiancée Rod Hoover) Aguredakes; 2 sons, Mark (Veronica) Davis Jr and Troy (Tammie) Davis; two sisters, Rebecca Davis, Donna Robinson; 7 grandchildren, Tracy (EJ) Clapper, Cory (Kati) Reinhart, Kelsey (Austin) Davis, Jessica (Zachary) Ebert, Emily (Dallas) Woods, Torrie Davis, and Tyler Davis; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, Walt, Bob, Jim and Roy Davis.
Mark was known as a #1 Fan of the Louisville Leopards Football Team, but more importantly he was a #1 Fan of Jesus Christ his Savior.
Before his passing, his family came to his bedside to express their love for his significant impact on their lives. His Christ like example, was felt and witnessed by many people, and the great memories with him will be cherished and told for a lifetime.
Mark was also a car lover and enthusiast, and his prized possession was his 1960 Chevy Impala. He bought it in 1962 and spent many hours working on making it show worthy. He and Kay attended many car shows over the years, and a few of his awards included Top Pick, Sponsors Choice, People’s Choice, Participant’s Pick, and Best In Show!
Funeral services will be 11:30am Friday morning at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Mike Grant officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mark will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH.
