Grace Meadows Obituary

Grace I Meadows, age 97, a lifelong resident of Louisville, OH passed away at home on Wednesday January 25, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Born September 9, 1925 in Louisville, OH she graduated from Louisville High School in 1943. She was a florist for many years and one of her many hobbies was making arrangements for friends, particularly around the time of Christmas and sending homemade cards to acquaintances.

Grace is survived by sons Paul Meadows of Louisville, OH, Lee (Darlene) Meadows of Malvern, OH; grandchildren, Beth Ann (Don) Salter of Burlington, WA, Ted (Stephanie) Meadows of Helena, MT, Nathan Meadows of Minerva, OH, Andrew (Kristin) Meadows of Minerva, OH, and Emily Meadows of Malvern, OH; great grandchildren Anne and Nathanial Meadows of Helena, MT, Tucker Russell of Malvern, OH, Corwin and Ozwald Meadows of Minerva, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, parents George and Ethel Couts, her oldest son Bruce R. Meadows, five sisters and three brothers.

Grace’s interests included gardening, fishing and whenever she got a chance, she liked to hunt arrowheads with her sisters anywhere they could find a promising plowed field in Northeast-Central Ohio. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends on the patio particularly, on a sunny afternoon, drinking tea, bird watching, talking about flowers, cooking and the important things in life. She enjoyed her orchid greenhouse, annual, perennial and vegetable gardens. Her friends of varying ages were amazed how such a diminutive woman could have so much stamina and energy. Growing older became an inspiration for others.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Louisville for over 83 years. There will be no service as Grace has donated her body to Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH. A celebration of life service will be announced later for spring, her favorite season of the year. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Friends of the Louisville Public Library. Thank you to the many friends for prayers, cards and words of encouragement. A special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care.
