Gus Misorski, loving father of three children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren passed away peacefully, in his home, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at age 85. Gus was born on June 26, 1935 in Midland, PA to Konstanty (Gus) and Antline (Polinsky) Misorski. Gus attended and served faithfully the Catholic faith at St. Louis Parish in Louisville. He worked for Crucible Steel in Pennsylvania and then helped start up J&L Steel in Louisville, OH in 1958 where he worked hard for 43 years.
Gus was preceded in death by his father and mother, siblings Richard, Joe, Ed, Helen and Maryann. He is survived by his three children Dave (Sharry) Misorski, Diane (Mark - deceased) DeWalt and Donna Randall, his siblings Charles, John, Cecilia, Antalene and Rosie, grandchildren, great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
It is few and far between for those who have met Gus that don’t have a story to tell about him. Whether it be a nickname, guidance, charity or his Christmas and 4th of July celebrations he hosted.
Gus had a passion for many things but family, faith, friends and traditions stand in the forefront. Gus celebrated them all throughout his life. Christmas was always his favorite carrying the traditions from his youth, along with his family who celebrated it with his traditional massive cooking of meat, Santa Claus visits and large amounts of fresh fish. Gus only knew one mode and that was 110%. His attention to detail was noticed by all who met him, whether it be in his gardening, cooking meat, canning peppers, making sauerkraut or Euchre. Gus once said “Take care of each other, love each other and always be happy, if you can’t do that, then you come see me and I’ll show you how to do it”. He always did just that and then some.
A (Private) Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, February 22, 2021 at St. Louis Catholic in Louisville, OH. Gus will be laid to rest in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity in Gus’s name. The family would like to thank Elara Caring Hospice for their support and compassion.
