John Paul Zwick, age 97, of Louisville, OH passed away Friday, November 15, 2024. He was born in Louisville on September 1, 1927 to Clarence and Erdine (Paumier) Zwick. Paul was a WWII Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Leyte. He was retired from Republic Steel after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Louisville American Legion and the Louisville FOE. Paul was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer and he organized the Tuesday golf league for the American Legion for many years.
Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma (Krantz) Zwick; four daughters, Linda (Rick) Heithoff, Judy McDonald, Rose Elmerick and Sandy (John) Swigert; a sister, Nina Weber; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Michael McDonald; two sisters, Shirley Popovich and Pauline Radalia; two brothers, Gene and Jerry Zwick. The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurse Lisa and the staff at Mercy Cardiac Rehab for the kind care that was given to Paul over the years.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11am Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr. Matthew Humerickhouse officiating. Calling hours will be 3-5pm Wednesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. Paul will be laid to rest, with military honors, in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Louis Church Capital Campaign fund, 300 N. Chapel St. Louisville, OH 44641.
