Judith C. (Buchtel) Starkey

Judith C. Starkey, age 87, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born November 28, 1936 in Canton, OH to Harold and Ruby (Youtz) Buchtel. Judy was a member and Sunday school teacher at Paris Israel Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, watching game shows, playing her handheld video games and being a supportive coach’s wife.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Starkey in 2020; her daughter, Cheryl Fockler and a grandson, Kyle Starkey. She is survived by two sons, Terry (Monica) and Bob (Karen) Starkey; a sister, Joyce Shisler; a brother, Mark (Betsy) Buchtel; eight grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Ryan, TJ, Jen (Pat), Alex, Kurt & Allison. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice and Windsor Medical Center for the kind care that was given to Judy over the last several years.  

Funeral services will be 11am Thursday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Lamb officiating. Calling hours will 10-11am Thursday morning at the funeral home. Judy will be laid to rest, beside her husband and daughter, in Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton, OH.
