Karen J. Saeger, age 85, of Louisville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 6, 2026. She was born in Canton, Ohio on January 6, 1941, to the late Roger and Jane (Schick) Hite. Karen was a faithful and devoted member of Christ Church of Louisville, where her kindness, gentle spirit, and quiet strength touched the lives of many.
Karen will be deeply missed by those who loved her most. She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Larry Saeger, whose life she filled with love and devotion. She was a caring and proud mother to her daughter, Kelleen (Gerald) Cox, and her son, Edward (Shelli) Saeger.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren: Jenna (Tim) Gorski, Megan (Brian McClelland) Moore, Taylor Saeger, Matthew Cox, Austin Saeger, and Jordan (Spencer) Zernechel. She was also blessed with eight cherished great-grandchildren—Chance, Camron, Landon, Brysen, Sutton, Layton, Macklin, and Tatum—who brought endless smiles and happiness to her life.
Karen is also survived by her half-sister, Gretchen (Bill) Landers, and her half-brothers, Scott and Blaine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lance and Bruce Hite. Though she will be greatly missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, at Christ Church of Louisville, 600 E. Gorgas St., Louisville, OH 44641, with Pastor Doug Beggs officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church prior to the service.
Karen will be laid to rest at St. Jacob’s Cemetery in North Canton, Ohio.
