Levona Jean (Gatchel) Spaulding

Levona Jean (Gatchel) Spaulding, age 83, of Louisville, OH passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 31, 2024. She was born October 14, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA to Margaret and George Gatchel, Sr. Her family moved to Amsterdam, OH when she was 4 years old and she graduated from Springfield High School in Bergholz, OH. Levona attended the Timken Mercy School of Practical Nursing and worked many years in the nursing field at Aultman and Mercy Hospitals. She also worked in private duty, home health and hospice.  She was a member of The North Canton Chapel since 2007.

Levona is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ronald Spaulding; two sons, Tim (Jennifer) Spaulding and Dan Spaulding; her grandchildren, Sarah and Carson and their mother, Patti. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. Levona was preceded in death by her parents and her only sibling, George Gatchel, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at The North Canton Chapel on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12noon. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. A private family graveside service will be held in Simmons Ridge Cemetery, Amsterdam, OH. Memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers, who aid disabled serviceman and first responders.
