Lucille Bordner Obituary

Lucille A. Bordner, age 89, 0f Louisville, OH passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023. She was born May 31, 1933 in Louisville to the late Vernon and Mabel (Schloneger) Vernier. Lucille was known for her hand-woven rag rugs that she, along with her husband, would sell at the Hartville Flea Market, Yankee Peddler and other craft shows and flea markets in surrounding states. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bordner, in 2017; a sister, Norma Elliot and a brother Richard Vernier. Lucille is survived by three sons, Ron (Sherry), Randy and Rod Bordner; a sister, Nancy Thompson; three brothers, Norman (Kathleen), Larry (Nancy), and Dennis (Cheryl) Vernier; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11am Monday morning at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Dr. David Anderson officiating. Calling hours will be 2-4pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Lucille will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
