Margaret A. Girton, age 76, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully, in her home, on Monday, August 19, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born September 22, 1947 in Canton, OH to Charles and Josephine (D’Aurora) Snyder. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Margaret was a graduate of Louisville High School and she worked for many years as a teacher’s aide for preschools in Canton and Louisville. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 54 years, Douglas H. Girton; her daughter, Amy (Dan) Imdorf; her son, Douglas C. Girton; two sisters, Chris (Jim) Steffen and Maureen (Manfred) Luib; her aunt, Rose Mosnot; five nieces, three nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Josette Pennix.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Monday (8-26) at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr. Matthew Humerickhouse as Celebrant. Calling hours will be 1-3pm Sunday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Margaret will be laid to rest in St. Louis Parish Cemetery.
