Mark Edward Sundbury, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 29th 2021. Passing from this life to the next he was surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Mark was born May 12, 1951 in Sommerville, New Jersey. He was a 1970 graduate of Oakwood High School. While in school he studied auto mechanics, attended the GM training center, and was ASE certified master technician. He went on to teach the automotive program at GlenOak from 1992 until his retirement 2019. While teaching the next generation of automotive technicians he made many friends and touched so many lives. Mark and his wife Linda built their dream home on 101 acres in Lexington Township. He was fond of calling it the "funny farm" which suited him just fine.
Mark was the consummate prankster and loved to laugh and make others laugh too. He recently began playing in the Friendship Bible Church praise band where he played the alto saxophone.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughters Tammy Stitz, Angela Swain, sons Mark Sundbury II, Thomas Sundbury, sister Linda (Bud) Crookshank, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Theodore and Mary Sundbury, brother Theodore Sundburg, and daughter Tracey Sundbury.
Funeral services will be 12noon Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Calling hours will be 10am-12noon Thursday morning at the funeral home. Mark will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plain Local Schools GlenOak Automotive program.
