Mary Lou Mogus-Armstrong, age 91, formerly of Louisville, went to her Heavenly home with the Lord, on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Bethany Nursing Home in Canton after complications with Alzheimer’s.
Born May 23, 1933 in Canton; she was the daughter of the late Earl and Zelma Mae Lashley.
Her many cherished things to do were giving hugs, playing Bingo, and when she was younger, she enjoyed roller skating. Her most loved color was red and her favorite flower was a red rose. She was a member of the Louisville Baptist Temple.
Mary Lou is survived by her sons: Joe (Cindy) Mogus and John Mogus; daughters: Cindy Sayers, Pam DiGiacomo, and Anna Stahl; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a dedicated step-daughter Denise (Jim) Barta.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Joseph Mogus, Jr.; her second husband, Harold Armstrong; and her son in law, Mike Sayers.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Stier-Israel Funeral Home from 11am-12 noon where the funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor James Barta officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Garden.
The family wishes to thank Comfort Keepers, who helped care for Mary Lou before she moved to Bethany, Aultman Hospice, and the entire staff at Bethany who cared for Mary Lou for the 4 years she lived there. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at: www.alz.org.
