Maxine Chao-Yuan Yu

Maxine Chao-Yuan Yu, age 83, of Louisville (formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa.), passed away Monday, September 4, 2023.  She was born October 8, 1939 in Sichuan, China to the late Hsiang-Hsien and Hsiang-Chun (Peng) Chang.  Maxine earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alex Yu and Lore Nestel-Yu; three grandchildren, Brittany, Christina and Amy; three brothers, Max, John, and Matthew, and one sister, Judy.  Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Ming Yu, in 2018. She was a loving wife, caring mother, and generous sister who enjoyed art and writing.
