Michael David Fitzpatrick

It is with devastating sorrow that I announce the death of my son, Michael David Fitzpatrick, on March 14, 2023, after a long courageous fight with cancer. Mike was born July 13, 1956 at Mercy Hospital in Canton, OH.  He is survived by his mother, Alice Fitzpatrick of Marlboro; two sisters, Karen (Ted) Gatts of Louisville. OH. Elaine (Bill Dorow) Pressler of Uniontown, OH; also, to cherish his memory are his niece, Amanda Booker and his nephew, Brandon Gatts, and many other family members and friends.

Mike graduated from Marlington HS in 1974 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio. He decided he liked that area of Ohio and the buildings of Miami University. He worked for Electronic Data Systems for 30 years and then pursued his nursing degree. He loved tennis, walking and running for miles. He had a loving nature of the older generation and volunteered for Kettering Hospital for several years. He had a deep thirst for knowledge, studying mathematics and anything he could find at the library. He loved genealogy and kept many records of the family history.

Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday March 21 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville, OH with Rev. Dr David Anderson officiating. Calling hours will be 10-11am Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Michael will be laid to rest in Marlboro Cemetery.
