Nancy Ann (Snyder) McKimm

Nancy Ann McKimm, 68, of Naples, FL, passed away on November 6th, 2023 after a very brief cancer battle.  She was surrounded by family and friends in the days preceding her death and took her last breaths while holding the hand of her loving husband.

Nancy is survived by her husband Tom of 44 years, her daughter Chelsea (Pete) Stutz, son Chad (Katie) McKimm, grandsons Caden, Colsten and Chase, and granddaughter Kit McKimm.  She is also loved and remembered by her mother Wilma Snyder, brother Jeff (Pam) Snyder, sisters-in-law Hali (Sid) Wilde, Rebecca McKimm, brother-in-law Terry McKimm, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

Nancy was predeceased by her father Melvin Snyder, Aunt Leah Ehlers, in-laws Gene and Velma McKimm, and brother-in-law Michael McKimm.

Nancy attended Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing and became a registered nurse.  She and Tom moved to Naples from Louisville, OH in 1979 shortly after their marriage when she accepted a position at Naples Community Hospital.  She worked there, caring for the sick, for 34 years before retiring in late 2014.  Her passions included dinner dates with her husband, attending church, going to lunch with friends, and spending time with her daughter Chelsea.  She enjoyed decorating the house for every holiday and Christmas was her favorite time of year.  She spent the last 10 years being a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and loved to spoil them with ice cream dates and quality time. 

A celebration of life will be held at Naples United Church of Christ (5200 Crayton Road Naples, FL 34103) on Saturday November 18th, 2023 at 11am, with a small reception afterwards.

Although Nancy’s absence will be felt deeply every day, her many friends and loved ones will remember her for her welcoming smile, her kind heart, contagious laugh, her zest for life, and her ability to make others laugh. She will be missed dearly.
