Patricia Kay Reiman, age 83, passed into her eternal home with The Lord, on June 14, 2024, surrounded by the love and presence of several of her daughters. Pat grew up in Canton, Ohio with her parents and brother Bob. She graduated from Timken High School. She was married for 60 years to her beloved husband, Gib. Together, they created a big family and raised their nine children in Louisville Ohio. Her greatest role in life was that of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. While raising her young family, Pat enjoyed volunteering as both a swim and lifeguard instructor with the local YMCA. These experiences led to her career as a YMCA Aquatics Director. She retired from the YMCA after 25 years of service as the Aquatic Director for the Louisville, Massillon, and Tuscarawas County YMCAs.
Pat had many favorite pastimes; homemaking, baking bread, sewing, family camping and golf. In her retirement, Pat enjoyed RV and cruise travel with Gib, and “wintering” in Florida where she was blessed to have friends from all over the country. Mom loved being outdoors, walking, cycling, and of course swimming. She enjoyed visiting the ocean, studying cloud formations, playing cards, working puzzles and especially birdwatching.
Pat is a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in North Canton, Ohio. Her faith and relationship with The Lord sustained, uplifted, and supported her in life and through her death.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, John and Aleda (Kane) Grimm, her brother, Robert Earl Grimm, and her husband, Gilbert A. Reiman. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Kelly (Dennis) Royer, Jodi (Marty) Constantine, Michael (Wendy) Reiman, Tricia (Scott) Louden, Holly (Robert) Colon, Jamie Reiman, Wendy (Greg) Seemann, Charles (Kristen) Reiman, Marlee Jo Reiman and their families. Mom would tell you that she has been blessed immeasurably to have shared life with her large family, now at 24 grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed. Pat is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Beverly Girard, Janet Whitacre, and Mary Lou Batchelor as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pat desired for her family and friends to remember the love she held for each of them and to celebrate the good times shared. She prayed for them to forgive any short-comings and to touch the lives of others with joy and gratitude. Her family is deeply grateful to all of those who cared for her during her illness, as well as her circle of friends who share our grief.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 6th. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be offered to family and friends after the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
