Paul F. Gramlich

Paul Frederick Gramlich PE, surrounded by loved ones, joined his Heavenly Father on Feb. 14 at

 2:22. He was joyously united with his daughter Vivian Leigh, his mother & namesake Paula Decker Gramlich, his brother & mentor Allan Gramlich and his in-laws Robert & Vivian Sickels. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Robin Sickels Gramlich, son Calvin and daughter-in-law Cindy Gramlich, daughter Lisa Gramlich, and beloved grandson Craig Gramlich (Lauren). Paul was blessed with loving sisters/brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, many close friends and his much-loved “Aunt” Shirley Steffy. He will be profoundly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Paul was born in Belleville Illinois on March 5, 1934. He graduated from Missouri University of Science & Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a proud member and president of Sigma Pi fraternity. He received his master's from Ohio University and later engineered the first shrub line transformer receiving a patent for his efforts. He and his wife Robin started their own company Gramlich Electrical Power in St. Charles, MO and worked together for 30 years. Paul’s long & successful career was due to his outstanding work ethic believing & following his favorite Ben Franklin quote “Well done is better than well said.”

Paul’s career success did not prevent him from enjoying life away from work. Tennis, boating, playing cards and his favorite pastime…EATING were passions through-out his life. Paul & Robin shared a mutual love for gardening & landscaping. Enjoying countless hours together at nurseries choosing just the right plant. Having “Gramlich fun” which covered any new project that required lots of work was a highlight of Paul’s life. 

Paul loved his church, Paradise United Church of Christ & his church family, holding many different positions over the years. 

A memorial service will be held 11am Monday morning at Paradise United Church of Christ, 619 E. Main St, Louisville, OH 44641. The family will receive friends from 10-11am Monday morning at the church. A luncheon, to celebrate Paul’s life, will be held immediately following the service in the church hall.
