Rodney W. Meadows, A.I.A., age 67, of Louisville, Ohio passed away Friday, March 25, 2022. He was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Wayne and Jane Ann (Marks) Meadows.
Survived by his loving wife of 36 years Loretta Susan “Susie” (Meyer), son Nicholas (Briana), brothers Bob (Lori) and Keith (Lynda) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodney was a registered Architect in the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and West Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati with studies at the San Francisco Center for Architecture and Urban Studies, followed by a Master of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Rodney is the owner of Motter & Meadows Architects. The firm maintained a rich history since its inception by Charles Firestone in 1919. Rodney joined as a partner in 1985 with Michael Motter.
The scope of the firm’s diverse projects included municipal, residential, business, industrial, religious facilities, schools, athletic facilities and many others.
Rodney is known for his relentless and generous support of the arts, education, community and the development of downtown Canton. He has chaired and served on many community boards and committees.
Rodney’s interests included travel, camping, family dinners, classic vehicles and model trains.
His legacy will live on with the extensive contributions to NE Ohio through his architectural designs and community service.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 1, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville, where the Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jason Lantz and Pastor Gary Dolan (retired) officiating.
