Ronald N. Springer Jr

Ronald N. Springer Jr, age 55, of Louisville, OH passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born March 14, 1968 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Ronald and Shirley Springer. Ron was an Army Veteran, a previous member of the Ohio National Guard, and a retired Captain from the Stark County Sherriff’s Office after 25 years of service. He was currently employed as Assistant Chief by the Walsh University Police Dept. Ron graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 1993, where he met his wife of 29 years. He was a member of the NewPointe Community Church in Canton, Wellsville Masonic Lodge #180, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Louisville American Legion Post #548 and the Louisville FOE #2374.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lori (Gallagher) Springer; two daughters, Alexis (Sam) Sinclair, Emma Springer; his mother-in-law, Patti (William) Martin; his father-in-law, Larry (Jane) Gallagher; sister-in-law, Debbie (Chad) Browning; two nephews, Joshua Browning and Jordan (Addison) Browning; uncle James (Kathleen) Springer.
Calling hours will be 5-7pm Friday evening and 9-10am Saturday morning at the NewPointe Community Church, 5305 Broadmoor Cir NW, Canton, OH 44709. A funeral service will be held 10am Saturday morning at the church followed by a procession to Plain Twp. Veterans Park where the Stark County Sheriff’s honor guard will have a ceremony to pay tribute to Ron’s many years of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canton Fraternal Order of Police Widows & Orphans Fund, PO Box 20821, Canton, OH 44701-0821.
