Sharon Rae (Lauer) Murphy

Sharon R. Murphy, age 86, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday February 1, 2024 in her home. She was born February 22, 1937 in Newcomerstown, OH to the late Richard and Erma Lauer. Sharon was retired from Louisville High School, were she worked for many years as the secretary to the Athletic Dept. She was a member of the Christ Church of Louisville and the Louisville Literary Club.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 69 years, Daryl Murphy; a daughter, Carla Showalter; two sons, Daniel and Collin (Kristin) Murphy; five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lukas and Kylee Murphy, Courtney and Daryl Showalter and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kellie Jane Murphy and her sister, Nancy Kiefaber.

Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Eldon Sheffer officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Sharon will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH.
