Thomas W. (IV) Edwards

Thomas W. Edwards IV, age 88, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. He was born January 2, 1938 in Canton, OH to Thomas and Lucille Edwards III. Tom graduated from Louisville High School in 1956 and then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Dennison University in 1960, a master’s degree from Western Reserve University and attended Akron University for Accounting classes. Tom served as a professor and assistant dean at Western Reserve University for several years. He then returned to Louisville, where he began a lifelong career as a CPA for Edwards Accounting. Tom was a member of Louisville Rotary Club, Alliance Country Club, American Legion Golf, Lake Ashton and Ridgewood Lake Communities. Additionally, he was named in both the Stark County Basketball and Baseball Halls of Fame.                     

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Judy Edwards, in 2006; a brother, Terry Edwards; his brother-in-law, Dale Harsh and a step-son, Scott Haren. He is survived by his second wife, Carol Edwards; two daughters, Laura (Jeff) Mann and Jill (Brian) Fraley; his son, Tom (Lauri) Edwards V; his sister, Ginny Harsh; two brothers, Rex (Donna) Edwards; and Jim (Mary) Edwards; a sister-in-law, Carol Edwards; six grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Mann, Becky (Nate) Steiner, Kasey (Sean) Fallon, Bridgette (Dave) Bonavita, Jaret Fraley and Trevor Fraley; two great-grandsons, Parker and Aiden Mann; three step-sons, Mark, Steve (Missy) and Chris Haren; a step-grandson, Nick Haren; a step-great-granddaughter, Hazel; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 10am Monday, June 15, at Paradise United Church of Christ. Calling hours will be 2-4pm Sunday (6/14) at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. Tom will be laid to rest in St Louis Parish Cemetery. The family is creating a scholarship in Tom’s name. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Louisville Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 448, Louisville, OH 44641.
