Wanda Phyllis (Millhone) Schmucker, 78, of Louisville, OH, passed away Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, after several years of declining health. She was born June 29, 1944, to Langdon and Leah Millhone in Canton, OH, and lived most of her life in Louisville, OH. Wanda graduated from Louisville Senior High in 1962 and married Merlin Schmucker Jr. on September 21, 1963, and they later renewed their vows on June 26, 1999. While she worked various jobs over the years, she was primarily a homemaker and focused on raising their three children. In her younger years, Wanda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, and group exercise classes. In her later years, she had a fondness for cats and loved watching favorite classic movies. She gave back by volunteering at a local hospital and providing transportation for elderly members of the community. She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church in Louisville. Wanda was always there to lend a helping hand or listening ear. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Langdon and Leah Millhone, and her brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Elisabeth Millhone. She is survived by her brother, Horace “Sam” (Toni) Millhone of Bear River City, Utah; husband, Merlin Schmucker Jr. of Louisville; children, David (fiancée Lynette Alex) Schmucker of North Canton, Steven (Reynisa) Schmucker of Louisville, Debbie (Brian) Briggs of Uniontown; grandchildren Tess (Frances) Schmucker, Samantha (fiancé-Jake Miller) Schmucker, Kayyri (fiancé-Josh Fey) Valencia, Gage Briggs, and Logan Briggs.
Funeral services will be 10 am Monday morning at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Michael Grant officiating. Calling hours will be 2-4pm Sunday at the funeral home.
