William David Twilley, age 78, of Canton, OH passed away Saturday May 23, 2026. He was born January 11, 1948 in Lineville, Alabama to Willie and Mary (Cunningham) Twilley. David was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Lodge #697 in Kerrville, TX, Scottish Rite Valley of San Antonio Orient of Texas, and Alzafar Shriners. He was also a member of the Kerrville, Texas Elks. David was an avid golfer and loved fishing, especially with his grandson, James. He loved to travel the country, with his family, in his motorcoach and he was known for his steak grilling expertise.
David is survived by his wife, Shelvia “Jean” Twilley; a daughter, Stephanie Renie; his sister, Carol (Ronald) Dewberry; grandson, James (Chloe) Renie and two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Lainey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Twilley.
A service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm on Friday. Military Honors will begin at 1pm followed by Masonic Services and a memorial service that will be led by Pastor James Ickes.
