Wilmer “Dink” Hughes, age 96, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in his home. He was born November 24, 1925 in East Liverpool, OH to the late Leon and Anna May Hughes. Wilmer was a hard-working devoted family man. He was a WWII Army Veteran and he was retired from J&L Steel. He was a member of the former First Brethren Church and the American Legion in Louisville.
Wilmer was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Hughes and 11 brothers and sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Joseph) Globokar, Lisa (Dan) Doerschuk; a son, Terence (Pamela) Hughes; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private family funeral will be held at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Wilmer will be laid to rest, beside his wife, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. The Doerschuk family will receive friends and family from 5:30pm-8:30pm on Thursday, December 9 at the home of John and Elizabeth Leebens, 1120 Chelmsford St, North Canton, OH 44720.
