Franklin Kerchner Obituary

Franklin Clarence Kerchner, age 80, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in his home. He was born August 29, 1938 in Canton, OH. Frank was a 1956 Graduate of Louisville High School. In his early years Frank worked for his dad and brother at the Louisville Bowl and he later worked for Monter Masons and Wilkof Morris Steel. Frank purchased and became the sole proprietor of the Louisville Bowl in 1976 and was very proud to have kept it in the family for 70 years. He bowled for Wilkof Morris Steel Team as a semi-professional bowler. He was the youngest bowler to be inducted into the greater Canton Hall of Fame and he was in the top 50 all-time averages for the national Bowling Congress. Early in his career he bowled four 300 sanctioned games and had an 802 high series. Frank was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Louisville Eagles, American Legion Golfers, Hall of Fame Luncheon Club and the Louisville Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed his retirement and winters in SW Florida. He loved to golf, bowl and be with his buddies. Frank always looked forward to spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was the calming factor for the family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cynthia (Peer) Kerchner; two daughters, Kristina (Ed) Hamsher, Kaolene (Art) Metzger; two sons, Kent (Susan) and Keith “K-C” (Monica) Kerchner; 10 grandchildren, Matthew (Linsay), Michael (Chelsee) and Meredith Hamsher, Arthur “AJ” (Emily), Elliott and Adrienne Metzger, Kaitlin, Kyle, Kacie-Erin and Tyler Marie Kerchner; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Caroline Hamsher, Violet Hamsher.
