Wayne E. Schoner

September 1, 1912 ~ September 25, 2018 (age 106)

Wayne E. Schoner died peacefully September 25, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born September 1, 1912, In Hartville, Ohio and recently celebrated his 106th birthday. He spent his early years on the family farm north of Hartville where he attended Kimmel Grade School then later played on the Lake High School basketball team. During World War II, he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington while serving in the United States Army. Wayne was a long-term resident of Louisville, Ohio and spent over four decades of service in the Louisville Kiwanis Club. He was a member of Israel's Lutheran Church in Paris and Lutheran Men in Mission. He and his wife Esther (Koontz), who preceded him in death, were blessed with a marriage of 73 years. He is survived by his daughter, Celia Greenwald, his son Philip and daughter-in-law Carol.

Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery in Hartville on Friday, October 12, at 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday October 13, at 2:00 pm at Israel’s Lutheran Church, Paris, Ohio with Pastor Aaron Speakman officiating.
