Barbara Ann (Trego) Rex

Barbara Ann (Trego) Rex, age 86, of Louisville, OH passed peacefully into our Lord’s loving arms on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was born March 30, 1937 in Canton, OH to the late James and Hazel Trego. She was a proud member of the Beacon of Hope Community Church.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Rex) Crothers; her sister, Karen (Tim) Loehr; her step-daughter, Sandra (Rex) Fry; nephews, Chad (Melanie) Loehr, Jason (Diane) Loehr; grandson, Nathan Genet; and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand Rex and step-son, Mark Rex.

A 1955 graduate of McKinley HS, she immediately went to work at Nationwide Insurance, eventually developing and supervising the NPA program. After retiring from there, she began a new career at Canton School Employees FCU, moving to head teller and trainer before retiring in 2001. She loved that job, her co-workers and “her members” and found a way to nurture all that crossed her path. By far, her greatest gift was to honor her Lord with her hands, by making everything she touched a little more beautiful and everyone she came across feel a little more loved.

Funeral services will be 11:30am Monday morning at the Beacon of Hope Community Church, 1101 E. Main St, Louisville, OH 44641 with Pastor Gino Haynes and Pastor Ralph Gibson officiating. Calling hours will be 10:30-11:30 Monday morning at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name, to the Beacon of Hope Community Church or Samaritan’s Purse.
