Earl S. Bates

Earl S. Bates, age 82, of Louisville, OH passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born June 29, 1936 in Bayard, OH to the late Russell and Laura (Archer) Bates. He was an Army Veteran. Earl was the owner of the former Bates Meats in Louisville and later worked for Hartville IGA and Kiko Meats. He was a member of the Little Country Church in Waynesburg and the Louisville Eagles. Earl liked to fish, camp, look for mushrooms and woodworking. The thing he enjoyed most of all, was spending time with his family.

Earl is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Block) Bates; three sons, Greg, Ken (Kim) and Ed Bates; a brother, Glen Bates; two grandsons, Kevin Bates and Steven Frank. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Bates.

Funeral services will be 11am Monday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Calling hours will be 2-4 Sunday at the funeral home. Earl will be laid to rest, with military honors, in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
