Eunice E. (Mellinger) Schmucker

Eunice E. (Mellinger) Schmucker, age 91, of Louisville, OH passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024. She was born August 11, 1932, in North Lima, Ohio to the late Elta (Leinbach) and Port B. Mellinger.

Eunice was a graduate of North Lima High School in 1950. She worked many years for Nationwide Insurance Company until her retirement in 1994.  After that, Eunice volunteered for many years at Hartville Thrift Shoppe in Hartville, Ohio. She was also a member of the Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville.

Eunice married her husband Cleo on July 5th, 1953.  Eunice and her husband Cleo spent many winters in Sarasota, Florida.  Cleo passed away on February 28th, 2012.

Eunice enjoyed daily walks in the local parks in Florida and around Louisville.

Eunice leaves 2 daughters, Cathy (John) Adams of North Canton and Marla Schmucker of Florida. She leaves 2 granddaughters, Angela and Mae and great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Anna Mae Reese of Painesville, Ohio and Alice (Joe) Kreidler of Fishers, Indiana. One sister, Jean (Paul) Steiner preceded her in death.

Eunice will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in Beech Mennonite Cemetery, Louisville, OH. There will be no public service.  However, if so inclined, in lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Joseph Senior Care Center 2308 Reno Dr., Louisville, Ohio 44641 in memory of Eunice Schmucker.  Eunice spent the last 5 years of her life in the loving care of the staff at the St. Joseph Care Center.  She first moved there in 2019 into the independent care apartments and ended up passing peacefully in her room at the memory care assisted living facility.  A special thanks to all who cared for her at the facility.
